Zimbabwean politician Linda Masarira formed a new political party called Labour, Economists and African Democrats (LEAD).
Masarira was expelled from the MDC-T led by Thokozani Khupe for wearing Zanu PF regalia with President Mnangagwa’s face
According to her Facebook profile, Masarira is the LEAD Chairperson, screenshots of the party’s constitution were also shared on social media.
The former president of the Trainmen workers Union (2008-2013) who was born in 1983 unsuccessfully contested for the Harare Central parliamentary seat in the 2018 elections.
A former activist with Tajamuka, Masarira was initially a member of the MDC under Morgan Tsvangirai before joining Tendai Biti’s breakaway PDP party and eventually Khupe’s MDC-T.
